

Research Proposal into HR Priorities in selected Sub-Saharan African Countries
Sidney House and CIPD Platinum Centre Busec Nova are collaborating to deliver a research proposal that seeks to understand challenges, priorities, and emerging needs of the HR sector across self-selecting countries in the sub-Saharan African region. Delivered from our base in Cape Town, South Africa and the UK, we are currently inviting Human Resource Professionals to participate. Our objective is to gather insights directly from practitioners to support evidence-based understanding and future capability development for the region. About This Proposal:
The purpose of this research proposal is to explore the most pressing needs and evolving priorities of HR professionals in Sub-Saharan Africa. As an exploratory project, the study does not assume any predetermined themes. Instead, we seek to understand the lived experiences, practice-based insights, and strategic concerns of those working in HR roles across the region.
Who Can Take Part
We welcome participation from individuals who:

Are currently living and working in a Sub-Saharan African country, and
-
Are professionally involved in HR, HR management, HR development, talent management, organisational
learning and development, HR
strategy and policy or related
organisational people practice
functions.
Participants must be 18 years or older.
What Participation Involves

A short online interview (15 Minutes)

Completing a structured online questionnaire. (30 Minutes)
The expected time commitment is approximately 45 minutes in total. Participants should allow a total of 60 minutes to take part, to allow for a quick introduction and tech set-up.

Compensation
Participants will receive a modest honorarium as a token of appreciation for their time. This is offered in line with academic research protocols and is not intended to act as an inducement.
Voluntary Participation & Confidentiality
Participation is entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any point without giving a reason. All information collected will be treated confidentially, used solely for research purposes, and reported only in aggregate form. No identifiable personal data will be published.
This research project is being conducted by Sidney House in collaboration with CIPD Approved Centre Busec Nova in accordance with ethical guidelines for academic and professional research.
